Pest Birds

Detailed information on all the different types of pest birds and the best methods and devices to control them.

When it comes to pest birds there are lots of different ones out there that you may come into contact with. It really depends on what types of birds live in your surrounding area. Sparrows are small birds and very pretty but in no time at all they can create a huge problem if you don’t take action. The best method of dealing with them is to build a sparrow trap. You can do so in just a couple of hours with some basic supplies and tools.

The idea of this type of concept is to leave a small opening for the bird to get in. However, these is a teetering weight inside of it so that when the bird enters the balance is tipped the other way. That means the bird is able to get inside easily but then it can’t get back out. You will have to decide where you would like to release them so that they are away from your home. This can be a time consuming process though if you capture a large number of sparrows on a regular basis.

Pigeons seem to be another type of bird that can quickly become a huge pest. They live in large colonies so it can seem that the number of them grows rapidly in just a couple of days. The problem will only continue to get worse so don’t think it will go away on its own. Pigeons leave droppings all over that contain uric acid so that is why damages to your structures can result.

One of the easiest ways to get rid of pigeons is to use visuals. They won’t remain in areas where they see an owl or other type of moving object. It can be nothing more than reflective ribbon in the wind that keeps them away. You will find plenty of these types of products that you can install on your own.

Sometimes bird spikes are necessary to eliminate pigeon and other problem birds from a given area. They have spikes going in all directions that make it impossible for them to perch in the area. You will find large sized bird spikes that span across wires and other technology that need to be well preserved. You will also find them outside of windows and around chimneys.

Netting seems to work very well for getting rid of all types of birds. This type of netting doesn’t capture the birds though. Instead it prevents them from gaining access to particular areas. This is a very effective method but it depends on the type of location where you have the bird problem.

Should you have a very serious bird problem it may be necessary to have a professional pest control service come in to care for them. They can evaluate the situation and let you know what type of process would work the best for you. They can take care of small problems but that are in hard to reach places such as the ledges of tall buildings. They can also take care of large problems that you never thought you would see the end of.
